Don’t Sleep

They’re out there.
Artists with a unique creative vision.
Struggling against mediocrity.
Taking pleasure in the art of creation.
And they’re uncompromising in delivering this artistic vision.
Because while most sleep, they work.
While most play, they work.
Their artistic soul is constantly being fed and nurtured.
Has been for years.
Self-motivated and independent.
Ignoring the preoccupations of the world around them.
Their work is sublime.
The Howard Roarks of acting.
Is this you?
Your competition?
Or your inspiration?
D) All of the Above

In Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead”, the author depicts her vision of the ideal man: Howard Roark, a true individual full of creative passion and ideals.  A master of his craft, manifesting human progress through his work and discipline.  His value system is airtight as he holds to his ideals amidst all adversity.  Don’t sleep on your full potential or the potential of any of your fellow artists.  Keep searching, learning, growing, and sharing.  Many come to LA, NYC, get into this business thinking it’s going to be easy or that they have a trump card because of a college degree.  Remember everyone here is hungry.  Someone is always in class.  Someone is always at the gym.  Someone is always networking.  In such a business, how are you staying on top of your game?
