The Creative Mood

BabyMed

So many different acting methods.  So many different schools of thought.  Which one is right?  Which religion should I follow?  Oh God!

Well, TV,Bitch! wouldn’t call himself an expert, but from all the different teachers I’ve met, books I’ve read, conversations I’ve had, ALL agree that relaxation is key.  When the body is relaxed and there is a connection to the breath, the body finally breaks its daily habitual “learned” behavior and becomes a vessel for impulses to flow.  Lee Strasberg labels this the creative mood, claiming, “As water seeks its own level, so it seems the nature of impulse to seek its own expression.”  You want some organic-ness in your work?  Gotta first learn how to relax (the mind AND the muscles) and get out of your own way.

Do you believe you can train yourself to relax and open the channel?  (If not, just f-ing try it).

We’re getting disciplined.  Practice relaxation for at least 15 mins every day.  Meditation, Alexander Technique, Yoga, Tai Chi, Lamaze, whatever.  That easy?  Bump it up to 30.  An hour!

EVERY day now… Notice how it gets easier and more impulses start to reveal themselves.

So let them out.
