Was journaling today and I feel like in the past few months I keep hearing the same basic acting lessons over and over again. And when I get specific about each one of these, it unlocks a whole new level of the work. Thought I’d share.
1. Make it Personal
2. Get Specific with what you’re doing in each moment. What is each moment?
3. Have a strong opinion
4. Really know the relationship between you and your partner (the other character). Have a specific point of view regarding the other character.
5. This is the first time this is happening.
6. Get specific about the environment and place.
7. It’s more interesting to try to manipulate the other person for what you want from them than to manipulate your own feelings.
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. — Albert Einstein
